Brownsville
Brownsville is a graphic novel coming out in February about Albert Tanennbaum and Abe “Kid Twist” Reles, two Jewish goons who worked for Murder Inc, the mostly Jewish hit squad that carried out murders for the mobs in the 1930s. Here’s an interview with Neil Kleid, the writer.
I ran a game (based on Unknown Armies) that used Murder Inc. figures as PCs. The story of these Jewish gangsters felt to me ripe for being converted into a Tim Powers style “secret history” (but what doesn’t?). But this stuff is really fascinating if told (or played…) straight.
I should have waited for this comic…
