There is power in the Earth that can be bargained with; demons in the ground, banished there by Thor and the Allfather. It is a fast and flexible source of power, at least in Latveria.
The priests of Allfather knows sacred runes. Slower, less flexible, but they don't get you burned for witchcraft.
