A knock on the Winebaggo's door interrupts Magenta and Smith's bickering, who are ignoring the spectacle outside in favor of arguing over food and eating arrangements, while Jessica Lange and Sam Sheppard look at them, befuddled.

It is a local weirdo called Bob, naked and painted in fluorescent pink body paint. He seems friendly, and offers hugs. Smith tells Sam and Jessica to stay near the RV, and keep the RV at present location, using The Voice and very deliberate phrasing, and he and Jones head on after Bob to see what's going on.

They head for the big Burning man at the center, which is a Bunker with a sort of art gallery inside. There they find an Obfuscated elevator.

Bob is scanned by Magenta and Smith uses the voice on him. This causes Bob to sit on the ground and shut down.

There are people milling about, some of them with supernatural auras.

They see someone head into the elevator and taking his lead, they enter the elevator which takes (beams?) them to an underground(?) lounge.

One side of the lounge is filled with clicking cabinets, switchboards of Technomantic design.

There are people drinking espresso, Smith *asks* one of them a question, and the guy responds with a weary sigh and a faint hint of disgust and tells them they are expected.

They go into an Office where they are joined by Anna, a cute chick in a summer dress and bare feet who is half metal (arm, half her head).

There is much talking. The Cat shows up, and provides much distraction as S&J keep asking Anna (who can't see it) its questions. Smith gets bored and leaves with a bit of lesbian innuendo.

In the lobby Smith flirts with a fangy chick called Dana, before an orderly brings him a phone. A lispy girl voice wants to talk to him. She directs him to a Chamber of Visitation, where behind a screen a shifting girl-shape begins to manifest into materiality.

Then Anna and Magenta show up, and the fairy tells them that what has killed the Childer of the Kindred is moving across the earth, hovering above the ground.

Anna gives them the coordinates where to go to intercept the hovering killing thing.

The fairy asks to talk to Magenta in private, and gives her a dagger - “his brother's knife”, she calls it.

It is implied that if Smith(?) makes the wrong decision, Magenta will have the means of dealing with him.

They leave the complex, go back out to the festival and head for the Winebaggo. It is an hour or so before dawn.

Approaching, Jones can hear noises from inside the RV, presumably the love-making of the movie stars. Then Smith opens the door of the RV, and it explodes, throwing him clear.

When he shakes his head clear and looks up, he sees a frenzied Magenta shillouted by the flames, holding a dagger in her hand.
