How WikiPedia is different from another Encyclopaedia

You can’t really picture a regular encyclopaedia‘s entry on Nubia to be prefaced with the words For the Star Wars planet, see Nubia (Star Wars).

No wonder Wikipedia has already supplanted the great Encyclopedias as the standard repository of all knowledge and wisdom, because although it has many omissions and contains much that is apocryphal, or at least wildly inaccurate, it scores over the older, more pedestrian work in two important ways. First, it is slightly cheaper; and second, it has the words Don’t Panic inscribed in large friendly letters on the cover.

OK, the friendly letters aren’t really there, but the rest pretty much fits the bill, no?
