Fiddling with WordPress

I’ve just upgraded to WordPress 2.05 (Hebrew version) and this post is mostly a test for seeing if Livepress is working…

I’ve been delaying an upgrade of this blog to WordPress2.0 for ages, because I’m worried about breaking LivePress. Now, with Nir‘s encouragement, I’ve upgraded both WordPress (to the 2.05 Hebrew version) and Livepress (to the unsupported version 1.99), and I think I’ve got Livepress fixed to actually work (it’s rather broken, out of the box).

Next, LivePress really should be localized to work with Hebrew WordPress. Non-localized plugins look terrible in the harsh left-to-right regimen of Hebrew WordPress – as do non-localized posts, which is most of my blog…

Hebrew in both post body and title, to test posting. Strangely, using the “utf8_encode” function on the body does the right thing, but using it on the title/subject messes it up. And you can’t edit your posts in Livejournal later – it complains about the encoding, for some reason.

Enough blather.
