Change Your User Pic To Mark Dark Phoenix Day!

Happy Dark Phoenix Day to you!
June 10th marks the proposed day of dressing up as the evil, sexy version of yourself! Like all silly internet occasions and international holidays, I believe it can and should be celebrated for about 48 hours – unless you are in Jerusalem or the diaspora, in which case, feel free to carry on with this all through to the weekend.
Now, you may dress up as evil, sexy you and go to work, prowl the streets or sit around at home, or you may perhaps find time to come to our little party (Bo’s place, 21:00 and on) in that guise, but I think that as an Internet holiday, Dark Phoenix Day should really be marked on the Internet.

There is a simple way to do this.

For June 10th, why not swap your user pic, profile picture, gravatar or whatever, with one that is appropriate for the occasion: an evil, sexy version of your profile picture!

One day I’ll have to make an evil, sexy alternative to this – the year after I dressed up as Batman, I dressed up as Devil Rider, riding my red Raleigh Chopper in black tights and a peaked hood, with a red devil’s trident on my shirt. Sigh.

I’ve got the axe murderer alternative to my classic Robert Plant, fly catcher picture, but that one mostly proves that “creepy” is a potential pitfall on the way to evil, sexy.

But still, there’s like 48 hours to do better!

Better then this, anyway:

I suck at Photoshop

Software and Programming

Any cool software on Windows?

So I’ve got Windows 7 running in a VirtualBox, and once I got past my main reason to do that (running Internet Explorer), I’m wondering what other cool things might be done with it.

I’ve installed Google Chrome, and this new email program based on Thunderbird called PostBox which supposedly does wonderful indexing and searching things but is Windows/Mac only, and I’m wondering if there’s any other software worth taking a look at. I’ve been using Ubuntu for almost three years now, and perhaps I’m missing something.

No sound or fancy graphics in the virtual box, and I don’t care about games anyway. Also, I’m not interested in any payware or warez. Within these parameters, is there any interesting, useful or fun software someone can recommend to me?
