The Hulk: Smash or Puny, Humans?

So what’s with the Hulk movie? John Tynes says it blows (and posts a NYT review to back him up), while Dave Hyatt says it rules, and backs it up with a review from, err, Ain’t It Cool News. So who to trust? the guy who wrote Delta Green and Unknown Armies, or the guy who wrote Renraku Shutdown and XUL?

Stripperella

Stripperella is an animated show created by Stan Lee featuring a superhero based on Pamela Anderson; Here’s an interview with Stan about it, and a news item about the one shot comic book.

Looks like Pamela Anderson has finally found the perfect casting for herself: a cartoon.

ME DEA EX_

Israel is currently in Mannheim working on a avant-garde theater project called ME DEA EX_, which mixes VR with the actual performance. The concept is Neora‘s (obviously), and Nimrod Kerrett (twice as many r’s and t’s than his brother…) is also involved. Looks nice (but clearly VR is still an immature technology). Israel is speculating about the possible roleplaying applications.

I just experienced a run of the play, with K. giving the avatar audience guidance. I think the confusion of the VR experience was more interesting than the play’s content. The computer-generated chorus’ singing was haunting (best performance?) but monotonous.

Oddly, my girlfriend interviewed Heiner Muller (who’se work – Landscape with Argonauts, Medea Texts – seems to be what this production/festival is referencing), the year before he died.
