Flinders Petrie and the Temple of Doom

A TV show I just caught the tail of mentioned an archeological pioneer called Petrie. Google elaborates that this is probaby William Matthew Flinders Petrie, an important Victorian Egyptologist (that page is part of the Petrie Museum site).

Another link that showed up is for a gothic RPG campaign run by the RPGA, RPGA Living Death – Jasper-Petrie Expedition.

Also, speculation about a black magic conspiracy behind The Son of Sam.

Victorian Martial Arts And Adventures

Journal of Manly Arts is a special section of the Journal of Western Martial Arts dedicated to European and Colonial Combatives, 1776 – 1914. Link from Phil Masters’ Steampunk page.

Also of interest (for my Victorian game) are the 2nd part of the Flashman Chronology (a terrific site. Must read those books sometime), covering the later half of the Victorian era, and this more domestic-oriented Victoriana site
