LISP is 133T

The Contempt Page is a collection of snide and witty quotes and aphorisms about programming languages. It ranges from Zen-like koans to juvenile humor attributed to a toilet graffito at the Technion (!)

A lot of the material comes from Lispers, who apparently have long cultivated an attitude of true eliteness. One of the more interesting of these is Paul Graham, who has an interesting article that explains the history of Lisp, it’s uniqueness and it’s relationship to other languages.

Anyone interested in learning more about Lisp 133tness would probably want to check out the site for the classic/infamous Lisp book Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs, which includes the full text of the book online.

You’d think K&R should also be online.

Fortunately the Israeli translator who revised the Hebrew version of LOTR changed the name of the second book to the two spires (or something like that)…

No Job No More

I was given notice by my boss one week ago (shortly after posting my last post, in fact). As of the end of the month, I will be unemployed (like many fine and talented people I know, actually).

I was holding off posting this until I got around to polishing my CV, but since I still haven’t done that, I might as well get this out of the way, so that whatever friends read my blog will know about it.

Lick That Pic

Wired :The brain doesn’t care where visual input comes from. So why not see with a camera jacked into your tongue? (from Aharon Sheer).

So, does this mean you don’t need to rewire your brain to build a proper neural interface? This makes some of the stuff in Red Rain sound more feasible. Neat.
