I’m stealing a link from

I’m stealing a link from this Linux Hacker’s Blog (linked to by “Dave Winer”) to the official site of a band called Rockbitch, who “are a group of female musicians who come from a sex commune.“. Their site features lots of nudity and thoughtful questions like this one:

…when a woman can’t even strip to the waist and play a bitching, head-down guitar riff, have her lead singer fuck her with a strap-on whilst a stage surfer licks her feet without authorities wanting to ban over 18’s from coming to see it – well, what has the world of rock and rebellion come to !?

Cleaning up my desktop, I

Cleaning up my desktop, I looked at this odd little App, which is a sort of document organizer / outliner thing, except that it stores everything in one XML file. Like I said, odd, and the programmer (who is apparently Japanese) doesn’t say much to dispell the mystery.

Anyway, that app uses a nice-looking toolkit called FOX, And looking at it made me look up other GUI toolkits (there are lots). One of these is called V, and it’s creator (Dr. Bruce E. Wampler, a professor of Computer Science and serious software engineer) also has some interesting stuff on Object Oriented programming on his site, including a draft of a book.

The Ninth Art looks like

The Ninth Art looks like a pretty serious online Comics magazine, a bit like a news site/weblog, but without the reader comments bit.

An article from about running

An article from about running convention games from Places to Go, People to Be. Cool quote (yes, it’s quote day here on my blog):

two armies face each other across the plains. One is flesh and blood, the other robotic, unfeeling and deadly. A heroic sacrifice is about to be made. Then some f**kwit has the bright idea to raise the mood by having a clown prat fall around in the foreground. Thank you very much, Mr. Lucas.

Don’t do that. Just don’t.

Woman Gets Life for Skinning

Woman Gets Life for Skinning Boyfriend A court was told former abattoir worker Katherine Knight stabbed her partner John Price at least 37 times with a butcher’s knife, skinned his body, cooked his head and served him up in dishes with nameplates for each of his children. I really didn’t want to blog this, because it’s such a horrific story, but it’s just too gruesome to ignore.
